My Ballads

I had to write ballad about a current event in the news so here you go!

Syrian War

Wake up to the morning sunshine
Bursting into my house
I slip out of bed quietly
Quieter than a mouse.

The war is raging on outside
Don’t go out said Mother
I then reflect over her words
Then thinking, why bother?

I can hear the booming gunshots
As I sit in the streets
Not regretting my decision
Proud of my daring feat.

A plane flies high up in the sky
And then down comes a bomb
I hear a roaring explosion
A scream then all is gone.

Syrian War 2

The smell of blood filling the air
Corpses litter the ground
Getting in the way of the war
Guns continue to pound.

The dark grey sky is stormy now
As night begins to fall
But the war is still raging on
I slump against the wall.

Men appear from far in the field
Pointing a gun at me
I look up to the sky and plead
Please will they let me be.

But no, they cackle and take aim
I take my final breath
I hear the trigger being pulled

While I await my death.
